    Hello all,

I have a situation where I need to link to one single page from multiple menu items.

    Example:
    SCAN PRODUCTS
             Canon
    SOFTWARE PRODUCTS
             Canon

Canon needs to be one page that has information about SCAN and SOFTWARE products, And I only want to manage one page's content and not two.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Matt

    Hello Cranel Developer,

Create a custom control that is manually populated from the datasource. SCAN PRODUCTS and SOFTWARE PRODUCTS should be root nodes/items , since Canon will be child of SCAN PRODUCTS and SOFTWARE. You might find this posts useful - Working With Items Using Server-Side Code and Working With Items Using Client-Side Code

In this way you will have one page with the same content that will be edited only from one place.

    Ivan -

In your opinion, where should I create the Canon page in sitefinity? It shouldnt be under SCAN PRODUCTS or SOFTWARE should it, because then the URL will be reflective of where I put it in the hierarchy right?

    Hi Cranel Developer,

It could be even in the root or you can use additional urls which page object expose and you can set them through UI.

    Hi,

I am not sure if this is useful for you but if you do not wish to create a custom control to handle navigation and/or maybe the number of duplicated pages is minimal then maybe you could consider setting the 2nd Canon page as an "external page" ?

    For example.

    1.  You create the page canon.aspx under ROOT > SCAN PRODUCTS.
    2.  Simply create another page under ROOT > SOFTWARE PRODUCTS with an external page setting and the url pointing to ~\SCAN PRODUCTS\canon.aspx.

I understand this isn't a great solution, but it does allow you to only handle content from one single page and you do not need to create another control.
