    Is it just me, or is it common for the page to do a PostBack (flicker) the first time the RadAjaxManagerProxy is used?

    I've placed a RadAjaxManagerProxy on my page (actually, it's a template for a custom module in Sitefinity), and set the AjaxControlId and the ControlId to the name of a panel on my page. This panel wraps a bunch of textboxes, dropdown lists and buttons that are on a page. When I select an item in a dropdown, or click on a button, the page does what looks like a post back (flickers). After this though, whenever I click on a button or select an item in the dropdown, the action is performed without the flicker.

    The RadAjaxManagerProxy is on several custom module templates, and this behaviour happens on all of them.

    Thanks,
    Carl J

    Hello Carl,

    Please, try to add the AJAX settings to the RadAjaxManager programmatically instead of using RadAjaxManagerProxy:

    protected override void OnPreRender(EventArgs e)
            {
                base.OnPreRender(e);
                if (this.Page != null
                {
                    RadAjaxManager ajaxManager = RadAjaxManager.GetCurrent(this.Page);
                    if (ajaxManager != null
                    {
                        ajaxManager.AjaxSettings.AddAjaxSetting(this.SubmitButton, this.Panel1);
                    }
                }
            }

    Note that RadAjaxManager should be declared in the master page.

    Do let us know if this helps.

    Hi Pepi, thanks for the reply.

    I ended up doing something very similar to this yesterday, which seemed to work. Only thing that I had an issue with, was that I had to check the DisplayMode, and and then add the appropriate container.panel that was being AJAXed.

    I would of liked to do controlpanel.panel instead of checking for each container. However, that I have does seem to be working, so I'll leave it alone for now.

    Thanks again,
    Carl J

    Hi
    Iam using RadAjaxManager in MasterPage and in ContentPages iam placing the ajaxSettings in RadAjaxManagerProxyControl... rather writing the individual control on this updatedcontrols section iam wrapping all the updated controls inside a panel iam giving the settings in radAjaxManagerProxy.. and i want to see the settings should work fine.. and a loadingpanel  should be displayed on every postback without flickering.. but i could not see the loadingpanel image everytime and a flicker is happening.. what could be the issue let me know...

    and i wanted to know if some settings are not working fine in RadAjaxManagerProxy then rest settings will work fine or it will stop Updating rest of the controls which are added as settings in RadAjaxManagerProxy control..
