I am wondering if there is a valueType value for adding a metafield that can be edited using the RadEditor (just like the main Content fields) so it will accept and store HTML?

Specifically, I would like to add an HTML-capable "Teaser" metafield to the News items so that, instead of the "Summary" field, which chokes on HTML and can only display simple text, the CMS user can define very specifically formatted entries to be shown in News lists for each News item.

    Thank you.

    Hi Clancy,

valueType specifies the format of the data the will be entered through a given metakey. Generally you can use valueType="LongText" and a RadEditor control to insert and edit data from the backend. Then you can use Literal control in the external ListPageMaster template for NewsView control.

Thanks Ivan.  Actually, since I see that the "News.Summary" field is already of valueType="LongText", could I just change the editing screens for it to use RadEditor control and then I wouldn't need a new field at all?  Or would that cause problems elsewhere?

    Hi Clancy,

I do not see any problem to replace the Summary TexBox control with RadEditor control in NewsItemNew and NewsItemEdit templates.
