I just submitted a support ticket, but in the interest of sharing this with the rest of Sitefinity users (and hopefully getting some responses from people who may have experienced this too), I'll post it here in the forums as well.

So... We are experiencing a problem with the Events View control.  Here's what happens:

    1. I place an Events View control on a page
    2. Edit the settings of Events View
    3. In Step 3 (settings) I modify the formatting of Start Date and End Date, uncheck to hide some fields, add some field labels, etc. (all standard things out-of-the-box).
    4. I save the edits and publish the page.  The page looks fine and all events are displayed correctly.  For example:

    Event Title 1
    Start date: Sep 14, 2008
    End date: Sep 15, 2008
    City: Chicago
    State: IL
    etc....

    5. I do IISRESET on the server.  I visit the page again, and all date formatting has been RESET.  For example, the same event from above, now looks like:

    Event Title 1
09/14/2008 3:00:00 PM <so, the label is gone, and the date format is reset>
    09/15/2008 5:00:00 PM <same here>
    City: Chicago
    State: IL
    etc....
<also, link for MORE INFORMATION is shown, even though I specifically chose NOT to display that field>

If I go back to edit the page that has the events view on it, I STILL SEE all of the options as I have previously set them (so, the dates still show correct labels and date format in the settings).  if I just save things again and re-publish the page, everything is back to normal again....  But reset IIS again, and things break.

This was pretty much done with the events module out-of-the-box, without any customization to it nor any customization to the master or detail template files.

In addition to IISRESET causing the formatting to get reset, it seems to happen when to application pool gets recycled automatically, as well.

    Anybody else experiencing this?

    Hi Marko,

I've already replied to your support ticket, here is also answer for the forum post.

This is a known issue of our latest release and we have already fixed it for the next release. In the mean time there is a very simple workaround explained in this KB:
