I'm adding a RadWindowManager to one of my master pages, and I need to know the location of the RadControlsDir property?  I want to add my own skin, and I know I need to put it in this location:

    RadControls/Window/Skins/[MY SKIN]/

However, I have not been able to find the /RadControls/ directory in the project anywhere.

Since the skins and client scripts are embedded in the DLLs, how can I make a custom skin for a RadControl within SiteFinity?

Please advise, I need to move on this quickly.

    Hello Academy Developer,

    Thank you for contacting us.

As you noticed now the skins are embedded in the dll. Actually adding skin for a RadControl is the same for Sitefinity site and every ASP.NET site.
There are many variants to accomplish this.

    1. You can add a skin for a Rad Control in similar way as it was with RadControlsDir and set EnableEmbeddedSkins property of the Rad Control to false .
You need to create a directory structure, similar to the old RadControlsDir (described here - Creating a custom skin, How skins work) and to register your skin as described in Skin registration.

    2. You can add Skins for Rad Controls directly in App_Themes folder for specific theme.
You can check you Sitefinity's project App_Themes folder - for some themes you will find defined skins for RadMenu,RadTabStrip.
Here is description how you can accomplish this in the Developer Manual:
    Working with Skins
    Working with Themes
    Using skins in ASP.NET themes

I hope this information will help you.

    Sincerely yours,
    Parvan
