    The Event Schedule View is too locked down for the calendar we want to show on our site.

    We've added the regular RadScheduler to sitefinity, but I'm having trouble connecting it to the events in Sitefinity.

    I have these settings:

    DataStartField = Event_Start
    DataEndField = Event_End
    DataSubjectField = Title
    DataKeyField = ID

    I presume that ProviderName should be set to "Events" however, it defaults to "Integrated" and when I change it and save it, it goes right back to Integrated.

    The page loads with the usercontrol, but I don't get any data.

    After some further investigation on the forums I found what I think are all the settings I need to change:

    I've edited the EventsScheduleView.ascx file with these settings:

    <telerik:RadScheduler ID="eventsSchedule" runat="server" SelectedView="MonthView" OverflowBehavior="Expand" RowHeight="50px"
    </telerik:RadScheduler>

    However these changes do not show up in sitefinity, it still defaults to day view, with a scroll bar and 25px high rows.

    I've rebooted, rebuilt, recycled and deleted and re-added the control to a page. Is there something else I need to do to get these changes to show?

    Hello derek,

    Which version of Sitefinity you use? Hardcoding the properties should give a result. You could try changing the skin so you will be sure that you are editing the right control.

    We're running 3.6

    I'm editing /sitefinity/ControlTemplates/Events/EventsScheduleView.ascx

    I tried changing the skin, I didn't see that change reflected either.

    do you have your external template (/sitefinity/ControlTemplates/Events/EventsScheduleView.ascx) mapped on the page properties? By default, I believe it will map the control to the embedded template, so you have to go into the advanced properties for the ScheduleView and have it use your external template instead.

    I'm not sure why this would be external template.

    I thought
    /sitefinity/ControlTemplates/Events/EventsScheduleView.ascx

    was usercontrol for the schedule view.

    As for advanced properties, there aren't any for that control, there is just a properties window.

    Everything is editible on that page, with the exception of the LayoutTemplateName which is grayed out:
    Telerik.Events.Resources.ControlTemplates.Frontend.EventsScheduleView.ascx

    Elsewhere in the forums people have been told to add the selectedView="MonthView" to this file and their schedule view defaults to month view, so It seems to work for other people.

    Ok, now I even found how to set those flags view the properties window.

    If in EventsScheduleView you click the edit button for "EventsSchedule" you get take to:

    EventsScheduleView > EventsSchedule (Telerik.Web.UI.RadScheduler)

    In there I set:

    Appearance > OverflowBehavior = Expand
    Appearance> RowHeight = 50px
    Layout > SelectedView = MonthView

    And still nothing changes when I view the control.

    Hi derek,

    There are bugs related to advanced properties or Rad Scheduler control. Some of the properties do not take effect when are set through the control designer. My suggestion is mapping the template and hardcoding the properties. Fix for the designer will be provide in the service pack.

    I hope this helps.

    Isn't /sitefinity/ControlTemplates/Events/EventsScheduleView.ascx the template?

    I've already changed the values there, is there another step to making them show up?

    How do I "map the template"?

    Hi derek,

    From version 3.6 we use embedded templates. If want to change any control or template with options that are not available though Sitefinity interface you should map an external template.
    Check out the links below:

    Introduction to ControlsConfig file

    I hope this helps.

    Still no luck here.

    Per the instructions I've created the App_Data > Configuration folder. In there I created the Telerik.Sitefinity.Configuration.ControlsConfig.xml file:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
    <controlsConfig>
      <viewMap>
        <viewSettings hostType="Telerik.Events.WebControls.EventsScheduleView" layoutTemplatePath="~/Sitefinity/ControlTemplates/Events/EventsScheduleView.ascx" />
      </viewMap>
    </controlsConfig>

    I downloaded the external templates zip file to check the host type and view the EventsScheduleView.ascx file. The only remaining thing is the EventsScheduleView.ascx.resx. This file does NOT exist in that zip file, where can I get that file?

    Additionally,  I've created new modes for controls before and when you forget the resx file the control doesn't load. I went to the website after getting this far and the EventScheduleView control is still loading, even though it should be mapped to the external template with a missing resx file. Still no changes reflected.

    Hello derek,

    By default EventsSheduleView does not require resource file. This is the reason why there is not such file in the zip. You should restart the application after you have mapped an template.

    I restarted the site, restarted the app pool. That didn't do anything. I just finished rebooting the server, my changes still do not show up.

    Hi derek,

    If you are running 3.6("We're running 3.6") please upgrade to the hotfix. In the official 3.6 the mapping does not work properly. Let us know if you need further assistance.

    Hi Roopesh,

    Sitefinity includes Telerik.Web.UI dlls and all RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX. You can reference all controls from Telerik.Web.UI namespace in the context of Sitefinity.
