    Hi, in Sitefinity you can select and drag & drop the RadTabStrip control from the RadControls into a container. That's great, but how do you insert the RadMultiPage that goes with it?
    You can assign an ID of a RadMultiPage in the RadTabStrip, but of which RadMultiPage? How do I get it there?
    And how do I configure the whole thing? (Which tab goes with which page, etc.)

    I have tried putting a RadTabStrip and a RadMultiPage in a master page, but that didn't seem to work: I got Javascript errors and couldn't drag & drop controls into that template in Sitefinity.

    Help is highly appreciated.

    Kind regards,

    Patrick Heller.

    Hi Patrick,

    The solution is to declare both RadTabStrip and RadMultiPage controls in the master page file. For your convenience, I have attached a sample master page.

    Also, in this scenario you could not add controls to the page with "drag and drop". However, you could use the "Add" button:
        1. Expand the "Add Controls" toolbox.
        2. Select a control from the list (Generic Content, Image, etc.).
        3. From the dropdown list, choose a container to add the control to.
        4. Click the "Add" button.

    Do let us know if this helps.

    Best wishes,

    Hi Pepi,

    I found out about the other method to place controls, but I have already chosen a different approach:

    In a Generic Content control, placed on a page, I switch it to HTML mode and add a hyperlink for tabs and a div for the selected tab. I repeat this for several pages and there are my tabbed pages. I make it look right through the use of css.

    This way the people using Sitefinity to fill the content go to different pages to fill the different tabs, which is fine.

    I've done it this way because it is quite simple and because when I did it the way you describe, I only saw one of the RadPageViews in Sitefinity (the one the selectedindex points to).

    With kind regards,

    Patrick Heller.

    hello,
    i did see this demo, but its not what i wanted to do. this demo access the preview on the side and change its values. however i wanted to access the next tab dropdown and add data there from the previews tab selection.

    here is a sample i used to load data in a dropdown in the second tab from the first tab selection

    private void UpdatePreview()

    {

    var RadTabStrip = Page.FindControl("RadTabStrip1");

    RadMultiPage multiPage

    = (RadMultiPage)RadTabStrip.FindControl("RadMultiPage1");

    RadPageView view

    = (RadPageView)multiPage.FindControl("system");

    DropDownList drop

    = (DropDownList)view.FindControl("version");

    drop

    .DataSource = _part.GetPartsCatalog(Convert.ToInt32(package.Text), Convert.ToInt32(version.Text), "USD", 148, 53);

    drop

    .DataBind();

    }

    drop here is null.

    is there is a way to access the contenct of radpageview.

    thanks

    Hello ramez,

    You can get the previously selected Tab and its data as shown in the RadControls specific documentation

    http://www.telerik.com/help/aspnet-ajax/tabstrip-get-previously-selected-tab.html

    You can persist the previously selected items in session object and pass then the the second tab.
