I am using Sitefinity 3.7 SP4 in the Images and Documents Library, when I download a word doc (or image), make a modification and re upload the file. When the changes are 'saved' there is no change to the original file.

I am using the stock standard Images and Libraries Modules straight out of the box.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Craig,

I am not able to replicate the issue on Sitefinity 3.7 SP4. There was a similar issue in older versions. Here are the steps I am following

    1. Upload a file - txt
    2. Save the file
    3. Download the file on the PC
    4. Modify the txt file
    5. Re upload the file

The Images and Documents module does not support versioning, so there is only one version of the file, so you do not have master, copy, draft etc items.

    All the best,

    Hi Ivan

    Thanks for the reply.

This occurs for Images and documents.

Using the steps you described I get the results that I have described.

The system is an upgrade from 3.5 to 3.7 SP4.

The only customization we had for that Module was to create better caching of the data under 3.5. i.e. Not having the full object graph for the Libraries loaded on every page of the pager.

I've removed this custom logic and removed removed all redundant views.

The only external template is the LibaryListView, which I have implementated some search functionality on.

Apart from that it's stock standard.

Could the previous issue be related?

That is could the actual data be causing this issue.

    Regards

    Craig

    Hi Craig Taylor,

Thank you for getting back to us.

Can you perform the following test? After you re-upload the document/image, clear the server's cache by resetting the application pool in which your website runs. IIS is caching files in memory automatically. So for example when you request a file IIS will create a file handle and cache it, so when the file is requested and the server cache still contains it it will be served from the cache instead from DB. If this is the case on your side you can check this topic.

    Sincerely yours,

    Hi Telerik,

I'm having similar problems, I'm using Sitefinity 3.7 SP3, I've changed my settings to save to disk and not to the database.

When I re-upload a image, it still displays the old image, I've cleared my browser cache and still same problem.
I've made a space in my web.config to force the application to rebuild, and still having the same problem.

Is there a fix for this?

    Thank you in advanced!
    Gerrit

    Hi Gerrit,

Can you please try re-uploading an image, and then viewing it in a different browser (one in which you have not previously viewed it in)? Also please try inspecting the response with firebug when you request an image. You will see if there are any expires and cache headers set.

    Best wishes,
