    Within the forumslist control (ForumList.ascx) I am wanting to remove some of the columns.  What are the different ways to accomplish this?  Also, on some of the other controls where you have the option to display certain fields, why does it not completely remove the column?  The column heading is still displayed even if you choose not to display that field.

    Hello Bart Welch,

    You could comment the GridView - BoundField or TemplateField you want to remove/not show.

    Also, on some of the other controls where you have the option to display certain fields, why does it not completely remove the column?  The column heading is still displayed even if you choose not to display that field.

    Similar behavior can bee seen in DownloadList - table mode. The easiest and fastest way to remove some of the columns is changing the Repeater control  HTML from the external template -

    [Sitefinity_3_7_standard_ExternalTemplates]\Sitefinity\Admin\ControlTemplates\Libraries\Modes\DownloadListTableMode.ascx

    If I comment out the field, then I get an error.

    <ItemTemplate>

    <asp:Literal ID="forumStatus" runat="server"></asp:Literal>

    </ItemTemplate>

    </asp:TemplateField>--

    %>

    I'm having the same issue with the Download List control.  I need to totally remove some of the columns and headings.

    But I don't have a directory called "Modes" inside of "Libraries."

    How can I edit DownloadListTableMode.ascx if that file doesn't exist?  Would it be possible for someone to attach that file to this thread, and then I could create the directory I need, edit and place the file inside, and then point the control to this template?

    Thanks.
