    I have created a new control based on the News Control, but i would like to remove some of the MetaFields, I have managed to eliminate all bu the Tags field. If I remove it completely from the Admin Templates, Sitefinity complains, so i tried to just hide it with a <Div visible="false">.  This almost works, but somehow I still end up with  the "Add a new tag" line, which i don't want.

                                <div id="sdsds" visible="false">
                                  <li class="tags">
                                      <sf:ContentTagEditor ID="tagsControl" runat="server" />
                                    </li>
                                  </div>

    Hello Steven Cohn,

    Thank you for using our services.

    Could you please try hiding this literal control:
    <asp:Literal ID="Literal17" runat="server" Text="<%$Resources:Tags %>"></asp:Literal></h3>

    Actually, I had removed this line completely.  Putting it back did not help.
    I did, however find the problem, I forgot runat="server" in the DIV stmt:
    <div id="sdsds" visible="false">

    Should be

    <div id="sdsds" visible="false" runat="server">
