    Hello Saumitra,

It could be done. You need to change backend and frontend as well.

    1. Create a custom control that inherits from CommentsList.
    2. Extend the built-in CommentsList template  and add "Report Abuse" button.
    3. In your custom CommentsList make a reference to "Report Abuse" button, create a command name for the button.
    4. Create a custom table in the database where you have to persist the ID of a post and bool value for "Report Abuse"
    5. Extend the backeb view - NewsCommentsList and bind the data from your custom table.

    Kind regards,

    Hi,

The answer here would be the same, you only have to skip step 1, 2 and 3 and instead of the "report" button you need to implement second comment button and handle its click event where you need to persist the comment in a custom table.

    Hi,

If every comment has one parent Comment ID then why is it required to create a custom table and not store the same in the Sitefinity comments table.

    Hello Siddesh,

The initial question was "Can the end user comment on a comment posted". Out of the box you cannot comment another comment. You comment the post. You have post that has comments. Comments are just items associated with the post returned by a list sorted by PublicationDate.
