    Hi Mike,

Here is the link to a website made in English/Arabic http://www.capitalawtc.com/en/Home.aspx
    Its under showcases menu.
I am currently testing Telerik for its English/Arabic localization feature.
    Thanks

    Mehdi

    Hi Mehdi,

Sitefinity supports right‐to‐left presentation of content. To create a site with right‐to‐left content , you need to modify the .css file of the theme applied to the web site. Set the direction property of the body and write your CSS accordingly.

    For example:

    body
            font-family: Georgia;
            colorblack
            font-size12px
            backgroundwhite
            directionrtl

We don't have Right-to-left theme for Sitefinity administration but we are working on one. The language direction of the administrative back end will be changed to RTL. The design will be flipped accordingly. Once we are ready, the theme will be available for download from MyClient.net.

    All the best,
    Georgi

    hello Admin,

I have seen the video to switch to right to left, but what i am struggling to implement is:
I have English/Arabic as a drop down language selector,
When the user is in English mode the page contents and menu remains left to right, when the user is in Arabic mode the page contents and menu switch to right to left.
Currently when my user selects the arabic language the menu and contents switch to arabic but its still Left to Right instead of Right to Left.
Is there a complete documentation to achieve such functionality? I have to give my client a quote and if its going to be difficult to implement English/Arabic then i am stranded.
A sample website would be helpful with instructions.

    Thanks

    mehdi

    Hi Mehdi,

Unfortunately we do not have a complete documentation on this, nor we have a web site illustrating this functionality in the way you want it. The reason for this is that the inquiry is not Sitefinity specific. I will give you an idea on how you can implement the switching between the languages and switching between the directions of the text.

The dropdown list in the administration is a standard Asp.Net control. You can hook to the index changed event for example, and check which is the selected item's value. Then you can include a CSS style dynamically, based on that value.
You can also switch, let's say two CSS files depending on the language selected. This might happen in the Page_Load event.

Please try these approaches and let us know if you need any further help.

    Sincerely yours,
    Georgi

    hi Georgi,

I was thinking of going the way of creating two seperate master pages and styles sheets, but i wanted to ask this question first if Sitefinity has an out of box solution.

are we going to implement this in 4.0 ? or in future ?

I will try these steps and the one's you emailed me. Hope everything works out fine.

    Thanks

    Mehdi

    Hello Mehdi,

Thank you for your follow up.  I am not sure if we will have this out of the box, but we will discuss it. Most probably we will have a backend template prepared with right to left text orientation, but this is under question for now.

I hope that the instructions will work for you.

    Best wishes,
    Georgi

    Hello Telerik,

We are developing a website with both English and Arabic content. We understand how to implement right-to-left content on public-facing pages, but we would also like the right-to-left content to display correctly in the administration pages whilst being edited.

Georgi mentioned that a "Right-to-left theme for Sitefinity administration" was under development. Is this available yet? If so, I would be grateful if you could tell me where to find it. If not, I would be grateful for any alternative suggestions.

    Kind regards,
    Adrian

    Hi Adrian,

There is no RTL backend theme for the administration. To get RTL for the backend you need to override all stylesheets inside

    Sitefinity\Admin\Themes\Default folder.
