    Hi,

    Currrently ResultItem of Sitefinity Search return 4 parameters i.e. Snippet, Score, Title and URL. I have a situation where I need to display Thumbnail, Author, Publication Date of the resultant Item (e.g. News) Can you suggest how can I go about it?as thers is no unique value out of these 4 paramaters which I can utilize to get the above said values that i need to display. I am using Sitefinity 3.7.

    Hi Saumitra,

    You can take a look at Search to Provide Article ID that explains how to get the id of the content item. Then you will be able to show all related data. Here is another related post.

    Hi,

        As per the posts given by you for reference i have created New Index and changed the fieldsInfoProvider.xml and added
    <field name="guid" weight="1" indexAttribute="" filterTag="guid" filterAttributes="" />
    Also, checked resultItem in rptResults_ItemDataBound but i did not get ID the way you specified. Can you please elaborate the same ? Am I missing anything?

    Hello Saumitra,

    The application should be restarted after the changes. Also, this will work only in the 3.7 versions. If you use an old version there might be an issue with setting this value.

    All the best,

    Hello Saumitra,

    I am not able to replicate an issue with this using the latest SP4. The guid on almost all items is added to the snippet.

    Hi Ivan,

    Currently we are using SP3 for Sitefinity 3.7 and the application has already gone into the production. The client is reluctant to upgrade to SP4 at this stage. Can you please help us and let us know how do we achieve the same using SP3 ? Is there any alternative way to achieve this ?

    I also wanted to something on the GetContent method. If i'm using the GetContent method by setting the MetaSearchInfo filters, can I set a filter on the "content" saying that i want to do a search for a particular word in the "content" ?? I hope I'm clear.

    Thanks,
    Saumitra

    Hello Saumitra,

    MetaSearchInfo is used only for metakeys. The content is a property of IContent object and you can return it as HTML or string and use RegularExrepsion or other methods to match the exact words.
