    Hi,

    I'm using the RadEditor in one of my own Control Designers. I want to be able to add the link "Share this content" and "Select shared content" but dont know how.

    I have tried simply referencing the GenericContentDesigner.ascx from the external templates but this doesnt work either. How can i do this?

    Thanks
    higgsy

    Hi Alastair,

    You have to wrap GenericContent control inside your control designer. You could reference it declaratively in the template by registering a tag prefix for Assembly Telerik.Cms.Engine and Namespace  Telerik.Cms.Engine.WebControls

    Hi IVan,

    Do yuo literally mean:

    <%@ Register TagPrefix="sf" Namespace="Telerik.Cms.Engine.WebControls" Assembly="Telerik.Cms.Engine" %>

    And then:

    <sf:GenericContent ID="Editor2" runat="server"  />

    That doesnt seem to have rendered anything whatsoever.....

    Regards,

    Hello Alastair,

    Yes, but this will not work. You need a custom designer where you have to implement this logic or wrap GenericContent control in another custom control as shown in this KB . ShareContent and Branch content are links from the control designer which is available only when you edit the control. When you click on this links create or branch the content inside the GenericContentDesigner class.

    All the best,

    Ok - that seems like a mission to do something very simple! I'll try a different route!
