Hi - I am looking to build a module where the user can simply enter some data. This i can accomplish using the Products module example and then modifying the metafields, edit, add templates, etc.

Then what i would like to do is allow the user to drop a control onto the page to display this data in a grid. (With possibly adding the ability to select a category that the data should be pulled from. )

Is there a simple non-technical way of creating this control?  Or should I sort of replicate the ProductItemsList.ascx control used in the backend?

    Thank you.

    Hello Laura,

I do not think that there is not technical way to do this. ContentView based controls use Repeater to show data, but you want RadGrid, which means that you have to bind it to content items data. You can make the Repeater to looks as a grid/table by adding <tr> , <th> and <td> elements in the ItemTemplate of the Repeater.

    All the best,

Since these are essentially events that will be listed on the page, can I duplicate the events module, modify the metakeys for the data needed,  then modify the event view output using the repeater...  that should work....
