    Hey guys / gals,

I turn to the forums in hope of some advise and maybe some code snippets on how to accomplish the following...

I need to access a SiteFinity installation's user data from another website.  More specifically, I need to be able to externally authenticate a user against SiteFinity's users list and also have the ability to create users from outside of SiteFinity (don't ask me why this has been mandated as a workflow... but it has and I have no choice in the matter).

    Can this be done?

    Cheers

    Hello Andrew,

Please check out this post - Creating and publishing GenericContent using API. After authenticate yourself you can use the standard ASP.NET API to create user, roles and profiles.

The secondary website resides on a completely separate webserver than the SItefinity installation.  Will this be a problem?

    Hi Andrew,

You can use web services as suggested in the post. This is a standard way for communication between two or more websites.
