    Hi,

I am using sitefinity 3.7 and have built a template for using an image gallery control in the center of the web page. I want to display the actual  sized image in the center of the page when a select that particular thumbnail is clicked upon. This would need me building another template to accomodate the new sized image right?  Can this be achieved within the same existing template using the display options in the image gallery control?

So to be specific, I am currently using the "List & Page" display option of the image gallery to display 6 thumbnails on my page. Now when the users sclicks on a particular thumbnail, I want to display something like the "Image & List" display scheme on the page? What should be the quickist way to solve this? Build 2 seperate template with the 2 different display options? If yes then how do I hook them up together and still provide a link to go back to  the previous page with the  "List & Page" display mode? OR can this be achieved within the same template itself? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

    Hello Viren,

This behavior is not supported by the default control. When you click on a tumbnail and you use List & Page mode you go to "Details" mode of the control which does not render thumbnails.
You could extend the external template of List & Page mode - GalleryListViewItem.ascx and implement a Repeater where you list all thumbnails. You can get the Thumbnails url by using ThumbnailUrl property of IContent object( please refer to Generic Content API)

To show the thumbnail image you can use a HyperLink where you set href attribute with JQuerty

    Thanks Ivan.

I would need a javascript/c# to capture the URL of the clicked thumbnail in the image gallery control with "List&Page" mode and then pass this URL as an argument to the image gallery control with "Image & List" mode? What properties of the 2 modes do I have to keep in mind here? Is there an example of this operation? Since there is code behind file for the GalleryListView.ascx and GalleryListViewItem.ascx templates, I would have to embed these scripts (javascript or C#) in the template itself right?

    Hi Viren,

You have to work with GalleryListViewItem.ascx only. You can create a code behind of the template and thee bind the Repater control to the thumbnail data. You can inject the script from the code behind or directly in the template - ascx file.
