    Hello, I am working with the site panel bar. I have read through sitefinitys documentation. I have been able to do a little customization but I would like to extend it. Here is my question:

          sitemap:
             page 1
             page 2
                 subpage1
                      sub-subpage
                 subpage2
             page 3

    Is there a way to start the panelbar on page 2 without showing page 1?
    Also, when I am on sub-subpage is there anyway, that I can still show the subpage1 & subpage 2 in its current form?

    Thank you,
    Joshua

    Hello Joshua,

    1. You could add the selector show below to the code behind of your SitePanelBar /RadPanelBar. By using the selector you will be able to specify the starting position from which the control will be bound to the SiteMapDataSource

    [WebEditor("Telerik.Cms.Web.UI.UrlEditorWrapper, Telerik.Cms")]
        [Browsable(true)]
        [Category("Navigation")]
        public string StartingNodeUrl
        {
            get
            {
                return this.SiteMapDataSource1.StartingNodeUrl;
            }
            set
            {
                this.SiteMapDataSource1.StartingNodeUrl = value;
            }
        }

    Could you elaborate some more about the second question? By default the control could behave as your structure and attached screenshot show. Which form you are referring to?

    exp.
    sitemap:
             page 1
             page 2
                 subpage1
                      sub-subpage
                 subpage2
             page 3

    question (2)
    when I am on sub-subpage is there a way, that I can still show the subpage1 (which is above) & subpage 2 (which is below) in its current form?

                 subpage1

                      sub-subpage
                 subpage2

    In your example, where would I go to make that update? Would it effect every sitepanel that I build? Sorry for all of the questions. Also, is there a setting so that when I am on subpage 1 and I go to subpage 2 it will collapse the subpage 1?

    Thank you,
    Joshua

    Hi Joshua,

    When I am on sub-subpage is there a way, that I can still show the subpage1 (which is above) & subpage 2 (which is below) in its current form?

    I attached a screenshot of the page structire that I have. The screenshot shows that all items are visible. the parent items could be hidden if you explicitly do it somehow in the code. By default you should see them.

    In your example, where would I go to make that update? Would it effect every sitepanel that I build?

    This is a public property and it will be accessible form the property designer of the control. If there is nothing set for this property the control will function as is, otherwise the binding will start from the SiteMapNode you have selected.

    Also, is there a setting so that when I am on subpage 1 and I go to subpage 2 it will collapse the subpage 1?
    This is default behavior of the RadPanelBar control. You could take a look at the attached video. Most probably you have set some properties or you have a code that breaks the collapsing.
