    Hi,

On our blog, we'd like to implement a tag cloud and category list. I've been able to successfully implement the lists.

However, I'm having problems with linking the lists to a detail page. I understand that the result page needs to have a ContentView control, but I'm having trouble getting the correct items to show up in the result page - basically it's showing just from Generic Content rather than the Blog data source and the tag/category filtering does not seem to work.

Can you give detailed instructions on how the ContentView control should be configured so that it

    a) looks from the appropriate data source
    b) applies the correct filtering to the result set

    Thank you in advance,

    Chris

    Hello Chris Dodge,

Could you share the code of your implementation or you have just dropped the controls on a page? Generally the CategoriesList is obsolete and you should better use CategoriesTre control instead.

You should set the following properties of CategoriesTree control

    • ProviderName  - here set the provider name that will be used to bind the categories data
    • CategoryContentUrl - the page on which the ContentView based control resides.
    • CategoryKey - default value is CntCatID - this key should be the same as CategoryKey set in your ContentView based control - QueryString Keys section.
    • CategoryKeyType -  the default is ID - this key should be the same as CategoryKeyType set in your ContentView based control - QueryString Keys section.
