    Hi praba karan,

    Generally we use web services and client side binding. Could you elaborate bi more about the desired functionality?

    Hi praba karan,

    The problem is that all items are bound to the client but we need to send the id to the server. First you need to map the external template for the desired view. Then add a new Client templatate.

    <telerik:ClientTemplate ID="ClientTemplate9" Name="Modify" runat="server"
                <href="javascript:Modify('{#ID#}')"><asp:Literal ID="Literal7" Text="Modify" runat="server" /></a
            </telerik:ClientTemplate>

    You can create a hidden field that will store the ID of clicked item. You can use CheckBox which should do AutomaticPostBack( it is a property of the control).

    Second option is using a link button and send the id as GridCommandEventsArgument. You should subscribe for ItemCommand event.

    e.Item.OwnerTableView.DataKeyValues[e.Item.ItemIndex]

    Another option is creating a custom web service which uses ContentManager for getting and modifying the item.

    All the best,
