Assuming Sitefinity 3.7 and all modules in use are generic content modules, and given just the GUID of a Generic Content item, can you:

    * Determine which module it is from
    * Get the name/title field of the item
    * Determine a URL to view the item

Basically, I want to track when certain actions happen.  I want to record data item in use.  In my table, I am hoping to store just the GUID and, from just that, be able to determine everything about that data (module, data title, url to view).  Otherwise, I would have to record all that too, and I am hoping to keep my table as small as possible.

By looking around in the database tables, it *seems* like this is possible, but I'd rather move forward on something other than a hunch.  :)

    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Hello Jeff,

    * Determine which module it is from

     - it is possible, but you need to loop through all providers.

    * Get the name/title field of the item

     - you can use GetMetaData method of IContent object to do this.

    * Determine a URL to view the item
