    hi,
I think I had asked this question before but not sure in which post.
We had this services in our previous CMS i.e. we would like to see which files are being used in which page?

What is happening is that files from Images and documents are being used in different pages and there are hundredes of them. When someone deletes a file which is no longer needed, the user sometime deletes the link from one page and not from other or the user doesn't delete the link from the page at all. This creates a broken link on the page.

In our previous CMS, when we had to insert a file on a page a dialog box would popup. It had two column with one side with list of files and on the other side some message about the page. If we clicked a file on the left side then we were able to see the list of pages where the file was being used. Therefore we couldn't delete the file. We first had to remove the link on that page and publish the page.

So, is there any way in Ver 3.7 we can have this option or will we have a feature similar to what I mentioned in Ver 4?
Being an admin for our CMS is making me crazy trying to find broken links and our public users have been complaining about broken links as well.
    Please suggest.

    Hi Rabindra,

It is hard to find where you have added some referenced to items in Images and Documents module. If you use one single control, this will be easy, because you could get the control from the control collection and check the property that is used to set the link reference. Generally you could create a tool that will loop through all pages and search for a certain control type. Once the type is found you cold get the property that is responsible for setting the link/content/reference. Then by using RegEx you could match the link or dynamic url [provider]-Guid. Finally display all pages that has this reference and you could modify them manually.

This could be done when the content has just been deleted, if you subscribe for Executed event of ContentManager class and put your logic when the CommandName is delete content.

Right now this is not implemented in the beta version of Sitefinity 4.0.

    Sincerely yours,
