    Hello,

I have written some extra functionality to the security pages as the client wants the password to lock out after x days if the user doesnt change it. However I have set the boolean IsLockedOut and can see that it is true in the telerik_Users table. But when I try and login with that user it still lets me authenticate. Does the autnentication not check this flag out of the box?? Do I have to manually check it in the authentication event in Login.aspx.cs?? If so would you be able to help me out with some sample code so I'm doing it right?? (i wil need to display a message in the red label saying they are locked out and to contact the administrator')

    Thanks, Louise

    Hello,

This is a bug. I suggest that you should use [IsApproved] as a workaround.

    Ok thanks Ivan,

As there was a slight delay I needed to fiinish it so I went ahead and set it by other means (linq to sql). So now if their password goes past x days I set this flag to true, and dissalow authentication by checking it. It works, however, then the Administrator will go in and reset the users password, generating that random one, thats fine. But how can I intercept this event and set the IsLockedOut back to false again any ideas?? Because it doesnt. I cant find the reset password event in the code (since I am setting this myself i'm happy to figure out the means, its more the 'where'?!! Thanks

    Hi Louise,
I had a similiar requirement where our help desk needed to un-lock user's accounts.  I added two check boxes, one for IsApprove and another for unlocking to the User Admin section. (Sitefinity/Admin/CmsAdmin/Users.aspx) .    I set the OnClick event to do some linqtoSQL to change the values in the telerik_Users table.

Have not look so see if 4.1 has those options yet.
