Hello Michael Waters,
Drop Video control on a page. Open the control for editing. Go to Advanced tab of the control and expand Obsolete Members
property category. There is a property SelectedItemId
that you can use to set the ID of a single content item ( video item). Although the property is marked as obsolete, this will do the trick.
I am not able to reproduce the second issue you have reported - no sound of a file. Our Silverlight Media Player is just a shell of the Silveright component. We do not alter the playing, so I believe that there is some issue with the file you are trying to play. There could be some problem with the file coding. It will be better if you try to use another file for testing ( for instance one of the built-in video files that come with Windows ) or try pre encoding the files. You can use Expression Encoder which makes the files directly for Silverlight.
