I just upgraded to 4.2 and checked out the http://www.sitefinity.com/devnet/templatebuilder.aspx
I couldn't find template uploading feature under "Design" menu. I seen 3 links under "Design" in the Vid but only has the usual "Page Templates" and "Widget Templates" in my current 4.2 version. Am I missing something?

    Hi May,

I guess we have to wait for the 4.2 SDK, but maybe I'm wrong.

    Last sentence on templatebuilder.aspx:
The Template Importer module, available with the Sitefinity SDK, allows you to add the new template directly in the CMS and use it to create pages

    Hi

I've tried following the instructions, but at the final stage the .zip file isn't being recognised...

    I get this error - http://screencast.com/t/NqlDIoHzcgU

Any idea why it's not working?

    Thanks

    Cheers
    Richard

    Hello Richard,

I have tested the template importer features and it is importing successfullyboth on localhost and deployed on a web server. Can you share with me from which folder do you try to add the template? As the error indicates the path the .zip file is not the correct format.

    Hi Stanislav

I've tried both the default one under the SDK install and another one my c:drive. The one showing is where the default ends up. Is this not right? Where should my template be stored?

    Thanks

    Cheers
    Richard

    Hello Richard,

I have tried placing the template .zip file in various locations ( desktop, C drive, App_Data of projects, in SDK files) the path is read correctly and import is successful. Can you open a support ticket and I will send you the template importer module. Maybe some file on your module is corrupted. Alternatively you can try reinstalling the sdk and if a file is missing it will be added. Can you check if the module is registered like this:
    <add title="TemplateImporter" type="TemplateImporter.TemplateImporterModule" startupType="OnApplicationStart" version="1.0.0.0" name="TemplateImporter" />

    Hi,
Is template importer only available in SDK? I don't see it in fresh install of v 4.2.

    regards,

    Hello Rabindra,

Yes you are right Template importer is only available in SDK. It is not part of the default installation.
