    Hi Ajay,

Take a look at this page to see the right upgrade path:

    Kind regards,

    Dear Ajay

Daniel did give you the right direction.

Outside of this this is how I do it.

    a) backup Database and Site
    b) create staging envirement (make sure that you are not connecting to live database, I have same user but different DB name)
    c) follow the instructions to the dot
        - I use code compare to compare my web.config to one from the EmtpyProjects folder
    d) check in between if stuff is working
    e) once everything is done migrate the stuff DB and Site

    dear sir,

    one more question

    when we convert 4.0 to 6.0 then (4.0 » 4.2 » 4.4 » 5.0 » 5.2 » 5.4 » 6.0)
mean first we convert site from 4.0 to 4.2 version , then convert 4.2 to 4.4  version  and so on 5.4 to 6.0  ?

my question is that can i directly convert from  4.0 to 6.0
    it is possible or not.

    Dear Ajay

    The correct way is to go 4.0 » 4.2 » 4.4 » 5.0 » 5.2 » 5.4 » 6.0

If it's a small site, not custom code, you have a staging server, and backup and feel lucky - you can give 4.0 to 6.0 a shot -> but it sure is not the recomendation and you never know what you might not have testet. I take even small sites up the official way.

    Hello Ajay,

Can you let us know whether you were able to download the correct version of Sitefinity required for the upgrade process, based on the video recorded by Markus?
