    Hello

I don't have the archives ControlPanelInsert.aspx and ControlPanelEdit.aspx in my module News

    ·         ~/Sitefinity/Admin/ControlTemplates/News/ControlPanelInsert.ascx

    ·         ~/Sitefinity/Admin/ControlTemplates/News/ControlPanelEdit.ascx

    What are the reasons?
    Thanks.

    Hi Alvaro,

Thank you for using our services.

If you have upgraded from an older version of Sitefinity to Sitefinity 3.6 you have made a correct observation that the control templates are not located in those folders as in previous versions. The reason for this is that there have been some changes in Sitefinity 3.6 backend architecture. For more information, please read Sitefinity 3.6 new backend architecture.

One of the new introductions to the architecture is that control templates have been embedded into Sitefinity's dlls. However this does not mean that you will not be able to edit the appearance of those controls. You just have to download the ExternalTemplates.zip and extract them to your ~/Sitefinity/ folder. This zip file contains all templates for modules and their controls. To gather more information on how to use external templates (edit them), please take a look at:
    Introduction to ControlsConfig file
Mapping a control to use external template

I hope this information will answer your questions. Please feel free to contact us if you have more inquiries.

    Best wishes,
    Rado
