    Hello,
    I upgraded from 4.1 to 5.2 but now when I try to go to the live page I got an exception

    Server Error in '/' Application.

    The resource cannot be found. Description:
    HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies)
    could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
    Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

    Requested URL: /xxx/login.aspx

    Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:2.0.50727.5466;
    ASP.NET Version:2.0.50727.5459

    I've tried creating a new project but the login pages points to a url-rewrite of type /xxx/login/ ...what would have been lost during the upgrade procedure?
    Thank

    Hello,

    First of all, could you please tell us did you follow the upgrade instructions in our documentation? Note that we only support a direct upgrade from 2 versions backwards. Please read the PREREQUISITES section in our upgrade documentation:
    http://www.sitefinity.com/documentation/documentationarticles/installation-and-administration-guide/upgrade

    The problem is most likely to be coming from your configuration on the server on which you trying to deploy the site. Could you please tell us the steps you followed for deploying the project? Please note that each Sitefinity application requires a license in order to function as expected. You can place the license key in the App_Data/Sitefinity folder to make sure your copy is validated.

    Furthermore, make sure you set properly the application pool settings as well as all permissions and bindings in IIS if you are using it. The following blog post may be useful to you:

    http://www.sitefinity.com/blogs/joshmorales/posts/11-02-22/installing_sitefinity_4_on_iis_7.aspx

    Additionally,  I would suggest to set the application pool identity to the NetworkService account and grant full permissions over the App_Data folder for that account. Note that the application pool should be set in integrated mode.

    All the best,

    @Paolo

    Might be a dumb question but shouldn't this

    Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:2.0.50727.5466;
    ASP.NET Version:2.0.50727.5459

    Read more like APS.NET Version: 4.x.xxxxx.xxxx?

    Hi,

    Thank you Markus for the information.

    The basics requirements for IIS 7 are:
    • Microsoft .NET 4.0
    • SQL Server (2005/2008/Express)

    Note that the installer for SQL Server may require the .NET Framework 2.0. SQL Server may also be installed on a separate server, but it must be accessible from the server running the Sitefinity website.

    Furthermore, system requirements include:

    • Internet Information Services 6+
    • Microsoft® .NET Framework 4.0

    More information about them could be found in our Sitefinity documentation.
