Client is telling me someone recommended they don't turn on caching in their pages because there's a loginview on every page

    That make sense to anyone?

    Hi Steve,

This makes sense, as the cache will still show a value for logged in user even though the user has logged off. This will be so until the page is re-cached. This issue is easily overcome by following the instructions in this blog post. You need to use a CacheSubstitutionUserControl which renders its content outside of the page cache.

Can't use InMemory with it though eh :/  I noticed the post in 2009 that says you guys will be making it available to other cache providers?

So am I reading it correct that I'd have to make my own loginview or can it just be wrapped somehow?

    Hello Steve,

You can wrap the ASP.NET login view control inside of a cache substitution control, or use Bob's sample which is very close to what needs to be done.
