    Hello,

    Something strange happens. I want to login to backend of my site and the login page doesn't redirects me in. Instead of that it reloads the login page with no wrong credentials message.
    Do you have any idea why is this happening?

    Thanks.

    Hi Giorgos,

    Can you please try deleting your cookies and clearing the browser cache? Also, did you try logging from another browser; is it possible to paste here the URL from the address bar when the login page is displayed?

    Best wishes,

    Hi Giorgos,

    Is it possible to send me the database for this project, or if possible include the project files as well, so that I can try debugging them locally. Did you try logging in with other user credentials, and if so was the result the same?

    It is enough for you if I send you just the records of Telerik_user table? I think this is what you want to check out.

    Hello Giorgos,

    Yes, please excuse me for the misunderstanding. So, can you try to perfomr the following steps:
    1.Delete the contents of the "PasswordSalt" column for your user
    2. Change the value in the "PasswordFormat" column from 1 to 0
    3. Delete the contents in the "Password" column and type your new password
    Then try logging in again, and let us know if the issue persists.

    Hello Giorgos,

    1. Can you put a break point inside  Login1_Authenticate that is defined under

    Sitefinity\Login.aspx.cs

    void Login1_Authenticate(object sender, AuthenticateEventArgs e)
        {
            e.Authenticated = UserManager.Default.ValidateUser(this.Login1.UserName, this.Login1.Password);
        }

    and see whether  the use is validated?

    Have you change the passwordFormat parameter of the membership provider in the web.config?

    2. Check this article

    http://www.sitefinity.com/help/developer-manual/resetting-administrator-password.html

    3. Create a new user programmatically and add it to administrators role.

    It's unbelievable. I did everything, no result. Also the
    e.Authenticated returns true. I do not know what is going on.
    Is there any possibility to be web host's problem?

    Hello Giorgos,

    If you authenticate the user  can you manually navigate to Pages? If the validation pass then there are two possible reasons for this behavior

    - somehow the cookie is deleted
    - you are authenticated but not redirected.

    Kind regards,

    I tried to navigate but  it's impossible. Can we give a final solution? Can we do anything else?

    Hello Giorgos,

    If you move the project to a local machine can you log in? If not, please open a support request and send the entire project to us and its database as a bak file. Otherwise the issue is related to the infrastructure where you hosted the websites , so you can consult with your host. We use the standard ASP.NET Login control to authenticate a user.

    Hello,

    I tried to debug the website locally. The problem is that it can't redirect to /Admin/Default.aspx
    I use community edition 3.7. I think I do not have permissions to open a support request. What
    else I could do?

    Thanks

    Any chance you have a tag <clear /> on <httpmodules> ? If yes, try remove it. That solve my problem.

    Not sure if the original poster found a solution for his problem, but I've had a similar problem and thought I'd share the solution for posterity. Our issue seemed to be related to a setting in our web.config file that sets cookie domains. The problem had been showing up on a development server, and the web.config was based on one that had been on our production server, so it contained a <httpCookies /> tag (under <system.web>) that set the cookie domain to the domain used in production—which wasn't the same as the one on the dev server. Long story short, once I commented out the <httpCookies> tag, login started working normally again.
