I created a custom intra site modul. I'm able to see my module on the module menu, I was able to add 1 thing to the command panel, however, I can't add the categories to the command panel so I can categorize my contents for this module. I looked at the product module, but not much luck do I didn't base my module off of the generic content.

what do I need to add to be able to for my users to categorize these content items for my custom module?

    Hi NuToSitefinity,

If this is not a generic content based module, you need to implement a custom data layer, persistence classes and interfaces. Following the generic content based module you can use the CategoriesView and TagsView directly - you just need a class that inherits from the base view.

    Kind regards,

If I based this module off of the generic content module, could I go against my own database table?

    Hello NuToSitefinity,

Yes, you can, but you need to write the entire logic for your categories instead of using what we have exposed  out of the box.
