I am new to sitefinity and this is probably a dumb question but I can't seem to figure it out.  How do you change the company name at the top of the template page.

I tried changing it on the template page with CMS "Edit this page"
I tried changing it in "CmsPages.xml in the App_Data folder

I haven't seen this question posted anyway so I must be overlooking something simple.  I am using the Company-Emerald theme in the Community site on the Community Edition 3.7.  Please help.

    Hi Adisa,

Under the App_Master directory you will find a file for the Company-Emerald MASTER file, this is the template it is loading from.  Take a look at this file in any text editor you will notice the name of the ID used in the <DIV>

Then, open the App-Theme directory and look for the Company-Emerald theme directory, this is where all the images and most importantly the CSS file will be for that template.

Take a look at the CSS file and you will find the name of the ID of the <DIV> where the Company name should go.  Change the image there or load whatever you need (text or image) in that place.

    Hope that makes sense

    Hi,

Lino, thanks for trying to help in our Forums. We appreciate that!
Confirmation from our side - this is the way to go, Adisa. If you do not see the changes after you edit the templates or the themes, restart IIS and load Sitefinity again.

That works to change the company Logo but I still can't find where the default text "Company Name" is coming from.  It seems to be coming from <asp:contentplaceholder id="CompanyName" runat="server"></asp:contentplaceholder> and not a div tag.  If I type text between the tag like >test< it shows up right before the “Company Name” like “testCompany Name”.  I have searched the folder for “Company Name” but still can’t find it.  Only the text at the bottom “2009 Company Name. All rights reserved. “  Is this coming from the database?09

    Hello Adisa,

Can you go to the Templates Section in the CMS part of the site. Open the templates for editing. There on the top of the template you will see that the first content place holder is called CompanyName and has a Generic Content control in it (see attached image). Click the edit button for the Generic Content control and type in your company name. You can just remove the control, if you do not wish to have your company name there.
