Completely new to CMS and evaluating if Sitefinity could manage a chat application with registered users, on-the-fly chat rooms and pre-determined chatrooms.

If so, can someone point me to some documentation, and what I would need etc.

Like I said, completely new to CMS, not new to .NET or coding.

    Hello Reza Mohamed,

The current implementation of Sitefinity does not come with built in chat. You need to implement your custom logic. You can use standard ASP.NET Membership, Role and Profile providers to manage the chat users. You can find the following forum post useful.

    Kind regards,

I am not sure why you meant that the above post is useful. It looks like an advertisement for a software development house but doesnt give me any direction to my question.

    Hello,

We have logged a feature request in our feedback portal for implementing a built-in chat module. Hopefully we will be able to provide this functionality in our future releases. Here is the link to our feedback portal where you can track the progress of the feature request and vote for it.

Currently, you can use a third party chat application and implement it to work with Sitefinity as it would with any standard .net application.

    Regards,
    Sabrie Nedzhip
