    Hi,

    Thank you for the update on this.
    Please note that you should not use the script for removing the community edition logo, but rather to help you change it with some other logo.

    I completely understand your concern, but I have implemented the better logos on both sites that I am currently running on the community edition.

    alikhatami.com || sacucca.org

    I love the sitefinity CMS and am proud to display the logo on all of my sites, just in a bit more subtle way :)

    This is a workaround until Sitefinity Community enables logo selection.  Once the logo is disabled, you can add the Sitefinity logo of your choosing to your template.

    Everyone should be clear that the community edition should ALWAYS display the sitefinity logo on all pages and that the script I proposed is not meant to remove it completely.

    Hopefully, telerik is going to do the following in the 3.6 release:

    1. have the set of logos to choose from in the Admin
    2. Be able to position the logo where a site designer chooses

    My suggestion for a future release is that the "default" powered by logo be injected into site pages using client script instead of actual markup (this makes it much harder to remove the default logo. if a sample is desired I can provide it); then create a "PoweredBySitefinity" control that can be placed within a template. This would encapsulate all the logic into a sitefinity user control where system admins can choose the logo from the control's property editor.

    The logic would follow that if there isn't an "authorized/system" PoweredBySitefinity control on the page, then Sitefinity's engine injects the default powered by logo, ensuring that a logo is always present.

    Best,
    Kevin

    Kevin,

    Well put. As previously mentioned I am proud to display powered by sitefinity logo on my site, doesn't bother me at all. And I think a logo control is a great idea. That way Telerik has control over its alt and title tag properties, where it links to, and can even implement link tracking.

    I appreciate your insight on the work around. It really made both my designs 10x better.

    Hi,

    Thank you to both of you for the nice words and suggestions!
    I agree we should provide a way to change the default logo via the admin and change its location as well.

    Thank you once again!

    Kevin, I'm trying to replace a logo with a better looking sitefinity logo with a link to sitefinity.com , but if I have RadAjax manager (OR) RadAjaxPanel then original logo reappears and it is now showing twice.  But if I don't use RadAjax manager (OR) RadAjaxPanel then it works.  Could it be that AjaxManagers are interfering with your javascript?  Pls let me know. Thanks,

    Hello Eric,

    The problem is ours. The RadAjaxPanel is doing a postback internally, and we append the logo to the response stream. So it appears more than once. We will fix this by the end of the week, and will provide a solution for it.

    Dude,

    Forcing people to have to display your lame sitefinity logo is majorly tacky.
    It looks stupid and for this very reason alone I am turned off by your product. You gotta be kidding me. If I liked your product I would have my clients purchase licenses and roll it out for them.

    Lame, lame, lame.

    Hi sean,

    If you have a Sitefinity license there will be no "Logo" on your site pages. The Logo is only required for  Community Edition which is free and not just trial. Also there are couple of different Logos you can download to replace the default one.

    Please excuse my "lame" comments earlier. I was drunk...with jealousy. Your suite is very nice. After all you did actually provide the code to remove it. The CMS is really tight, very clean.

    Hi Ivan,

    On th9/1/2008 response from the Telerik team, Kalina mentioned that some documentation was going to be put out regarding the positioning of the Sitefinity logo. I'm guessing that there is a problem with my CSS but I cannot find the cause.

    The logo appears under my footer and no matter how I tweak the CSS I cannot get it to appear at the bottom of my footer... in the Firefox developer toolbar, when I view the style information on the Page, the logo is not within my footer div for some reason, even though I placed it there.

    Basic markup:

           <div id="wrapper">

                <div id="header">

                </div>

                <div id="outer_container">
                    <div id="gallery"></div>

                    <div id="container">

                        <div id="TopNavigation">

                        </div>

                        <div id="content">

                            <div id="sideNav">
                              Side nav
                            </div>
    <div id="main"> Main </div> </div> </div> </div> <div id="footer">

    Hello Anthony,

    Please use the code showed below to hide the original Sitefinity logo, and include a custom one in the position you want. Sitefinity automatically inserts it and disregard the footer you have. This is a limitation, but we trust you that if you hide the logo, you will still show some, somewhere on your page.

    Hello Anthony,

    I am quoting Kevin Hillinger from this thread:
    IE is a little quirky with the 'class' attribute name. So the cross-browser version of the script would be the below. Notice the getAttribute("className") check which is valid in IE.
    function hideDefaultPoweredByLogo() {

        var DEFAULT_LOGO_CSSCLASS = "poweredBySitefinityLogo";
        var nodeList = document.getElementsByTagName("p")

        var defaultPoweredByLogo = null;

        for (i = 0; i < nodeList.length; i++)
        {
            if (nodeList[i].getAttribute("class") == DEFAULT_LOGO_CSSCLASS ||
                nodeList[i].getAttribute("className") == DEFAULT_LOGO_CSSCLASS) {
                defaultPoweredByLogo = nodeList[i];
                break;
            }
        }

        if (defaultPoweredByLogo != null)
        {
            var filler = document.createElement("span");
            filler.style.display = "none";

            var parent = defaultPoweredByLogo.parentNode;
            parent.replaceChild(filler, defaultPoweredByLogo);
        }
    }

    This is a javascript, that should be placed in the masterpage.

    Kind regards,
    Georgi

    Hello Meister,

    Community logs are embedded into Telerik.Cms.dll as resources.

    To set a logo.

    1. Open your web.config file.
    2. In the section cms defaultProvider="Sitefinity" add the attribute communityLogo.
    3. Set its value to any of the available styles: Original, Dark or Light.

    To illustrate, this is what the web.config file should contain if you want to set a Dark style for the logo:

    <cms defaultProvider="Sitefinity" pageExtension=".aspx" pageEditorUIMode="Overlay" disabled="true" communityLogo="Dark">

    Hello Anthony,

    The logo wrapper has CSS class "poweredBySitefinity". You can change the position via CSS and write the CSS rule needed in your theme. For example:
    .poweredBySitefinity
    {
    padding: 20px 0;
    }

    Thanks Anthony.,

    Actually my intention was to put this on the footer on all the pages and the pages are of different heights. So I can not define a specific padding top. Is there any other way?

    And also I installed Community edition of sitefinity project manager on my localhost, and created a project. Now I copied the project on to a temporary server and configured this on IIS. "http://192.168.1.8:8089/"(Not Public). But Now it started to show "You are running a trial version of sitefinity 4". Please help me with this. I have attached the screen shot with this

    Thanks,

    Hi Anthony,

    You cannot move Sitefinity logo in the footer. It will be rendered just before the closing BODY tag automatically. You can try to adjust it with CSS by using negative margins.

    I see that the another issue you have was resolved in another thread where you had a discussion with Ivan.

    All the best,
