I am new to Sitefinity, so forgive me if I missed something obvious.

I have been experimenting with the sample project I created after installation.

Now I have created a new project and there is a template that I made in my first site that I would like to copy to the new project.

How do I do that?  I can find some of the template files, but not the one I created. So I am thinking that it only exists in the database. But if that is the case, then why do the other pages exist on the file system.

Also, how would I get the .master and .cs files?

    Thanks!

    -Mike

    Hi Michael Meadows,

You can get .master and .cs files from the files system and then paste to the new project you have. Generally the templates section in Sitefinity is populated from the master pages you have added to your App_Master folder.  There is a built in export tool that exports pages and generic content items. Maybe it will help you. You can find the tool under Administration/Tools.

    Kind regards,

    Let me reframe my question.

If I look in the App_Master directory, I do not see a master page for a template that I created in my site.

    Should there be one?

    Hello Michael Meadows,

Could you tell us how have you created a template - some steps you have followed? You have duplicated an existing? The duplicated templates cannot be exported.

    Best wishes,

Aha! That's the answer. I duplicated a template, therefore it is not exported.

Thank you.  At least I know I am not crazy!
