    Hi,

I've been posting a number of times with questions regarding URL rewriting, and thankfully we are nearly finished.

I have a small issue that I'm hoping you can help me with.

I have added additional URLs to each of my Page Groups' home pages, and set them as default, example:

    Generated URL: ~/Products/Products-home.aspx
Another URL: ~/product <- default (it's not "Products" due to the unique URL constraint)

This works great, but, when trying to edit the page through the cms, the url for editing is now:
    http://www.sitename.com/product?cmspagemode=edit

I understand that this is happening due to the URL being the default URL, but all I am getting is a blank screen. Is this normal?

    Thanks.

    Hello Massimiliano Rizzuto,

Thank you for using our services.

Can you please let us know what is the default configuration for page extension in web.config, section <cms>? The only configuration I have been able to make work for your scenario is if I use no extension for my pages. Then the additional Url works without problems, as well as the page editor. However if I have .aspx extensnon and for example I have:

    ~/group-page/index.aspx

    and set the additional URL

    ~/group

IIS would return 404 for the pages.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Radoslav,

The page extension is currently .aspx

What you suggested worked instantly, but I'm not so sure we'd want to remove the .aspx now, as it is a live site and has been around for a while, I honestly cannot say if we have any code that links directly to pages with an .aspx extension included.

Do you think this is the only way around it?

    Thanks for the feedback.

    Hello Massimiliano Rizzuto,

Unfortunately this is the only way that the additional url can be configured to work in this way. The other option would be to use the Sitefinity UrlRewrite functionality instead of adding additional urls.

    Hi Radoslav,

Actually that's why I'm adding some additional URLs. Because I'm using url rewriting and I need to change the links for the navigation.

But I think I get find another way around that by modifying the menu a bit.

    Thanks
