i have a few things that are occuring that wasn't occuring before so i'm not sure what is wrong with my system. i recently went through a change to the admin pages and shifting everything to https and also changing the login.aspx pages according to sitefinity communications. After the changes everything was working well from what i could tell. I was able to edit/create pages, access the admin pages in general.

Now my issue is I attempted to create a subpage today in which when i clicked save, i was redirected out of the admin pages into a static page where i was presented with a security error stating that i am denied access to the source. This security error page appears as if it's a page my organization may have built. when i click back to get back to where i was when i attempted to create the subpage, i can see that my subpage was already created. The same thing happened when i tried to create a regular page within this new subpage. this doesn't happen when i create a page under any other subpages that are existing. Normally when i create a new page i click 'create page' and i am then taken to edit that page where i can select my template and style.

the second thing that occurs is that on this page where i get my error, if i exit and relog back into admin and edit that new page, it redirects me to the security error page. it keeps me on that page. if i drag this page out of my new subpage and into the root for instance, i can then edit the page but if i click save or cancel, nothing happens.

    Hello ASA,

It looks like you have some HTTP Handler, HTTP Module, some code that is triggered on "CreatePage" command name of the CmsManager , url rewrite rule that causes this issue. The problem could be result of any control that probably you add automatically when a page is created and this control has some logic that redirects you.

    Best wishes,

ok, i was able to back track to recall what i did that might have thrown off the flow for this and it has to do with a control that i added. so my question to you is how is it possible that a control can alter my flow for adding a page?

all i did to resolve my issues was i commented out the line in web.config that contained <add control="mycontrol name.....>.

I would like to understand why after commenting out this one line in the web.config file, allowed everything that i described to be fixed? what is the system trying to do with this control that's displayed in the toolbar?

    Hi ASA,

You have some logic in this control that causes this issue. I do not believe that if have a single  Literal control and inside PageLoad you set its Text property this could cause an issue. You have something in this control that breaks the page editor. Another option is that you call the control from somewhere as described. When you comment the control it is not more loaded by the Toolbox.

    Kind regards,
