The code block in the error message looks like a custom one. In the case of having custom code developers should provide their own logic for handling errors. Please consider wrapping up the code block with try-catch
and handling exceptions in the catch statement. You can consider the bellow code snippet:

i = list.Count;
This will send the raised exception directly to the Sitefinity error logger which will write a error log entry in ~/App_Data/sitefinity.log without throwing the error.
