    Hi Erik,

The permissions are set for the whole module. If a user has view to the module he/she will be able to see the categories.

But is it possible to limit it to that they can only see a special category?

    Hi Erik,

You could replace the default CategoriesView ( replacing views). In your custom view you have to override BindCategoriesList or AddCategoryNode where you could set which category should be visible depending on the currently logged in user (UserManager.GetUser method).

    Hello Erik,

We use Nolics Data Layer and there are not actual relations between the tables. Everything is handled by the Nolics and Sitefinity's API and some store procedures.

    Hi Erik,

Could you tell me which events you are looking for? Is there any reason for not using the API or another Data Layer?
