I created an event for 2011 (e.g. 02/12/2011) and it displays fine in admin area, but I got an error on the frontend. The control I used to display event start date is as following:

    <telerik:datetimeliteral runat="server" id="Event_Start" dateformatstring="d"></telerik:datetimeliteral>

    The error message is
    Server Error in '/' Application.

String was not recognized as a valid DateTime because the day of week was incorrect.

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.FormatException: String was not recognized as a valid DateTime because the day of week was incorrect.

Hi Stephen, not sure if you are still following this thread, but I was curious as to how your problem was resolved and whether this was a problem during new development or something that just showed up on the site.
I've had a site online since last winter using a date format that I had to add to show as Thursday, Dec 16 and just today that page was throwing an error when it had not in the past. I'm not sure if someone added a particular event today or what triggered the failure.
I've temporarily changed the date format to another one available in the drop-down and it is working fine, but other news and events controls (showing different categories) on that same page, which should be using the same code are still working fine.
Mine also shows up fine in the drop-down as "Thursday, Dec 16".
I won't be in my office until Monday to look at the code, but I was really surprised that I would have had something wrong and been able to run it for 10 months with no issues.
