    I need to move a v 3.7 site to a different host and need to
    use an azure SQL server for the time being as that is the only one available.

    I am using the SQLAzureMW tool to migrate the data and
    folders.

    It has always worked before but in this case I am getting an
    error.

    I have tried doing the transfer multiple times now and it
    always fails in the same place.

    I get this error:

    --> Uploading data to sf_CmsControlProperty

     --> BCP Command:
    bcp.exe "herbiseed.dbo.sf_CmsControlProperty" in
    "c:\SQLAzureMW\BCPData\dbo.sf_CmsControlProperty.dat" -E -w -b 10000
    -a 16384 -q -S -
    22/02/2013 01:15:06--> Error
    Starting copy...

    SQLState = 22005, NativeError = 0 Error = [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0]Invalid character value for cast specification

    SQLState = 22005, NativeError = 0 Error = [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0]Invalid character value for cast specification

    SQLState = 22005, NativeError = 0 Error = [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0]Invalid character value for cast specification

    SQLState = 22005, NativeError = 0 Error = [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0]Invalid character value for cast specification

    Evidently there is some data corruption here. I need to find
    out where this invalid error is and remove it from the dat file. Since I gather
    it is not the best idea to edit the database by hand.

    How can I find out what it is? Or in fact just force the
    database to accept it?

    This is extremely urgent as the current hosting will be cut
    off soon.

    Anyone please help.

    Hi,

    There are database initialization problems to run 3.7 version on Azure cloud, so it won't work properly. We have not preformed enough QA tests to say that we support 3.x versions on Azure. Sitefinity 5 offers Azure support.

    Migrate the site to sitefintiy 5.x version to use Azure as hosting environment.

    I am not trying to host the whole project in Azure. Only the database.

    We tried migrating the page to 5.x a few months ago it was a complete disaster.

    Nothing worked and we wasted 3 man days on it.

    Hi,

    The database is the problem when deploying in Azure environment SQL azure scripts the database and SQL Azure decripts in format different from SQL server and the database initilization is not working. The official Azure support is added in sitefinity 4.x, however I reccomend using the latest version for cloud deployments.
