I'm using a Mac and Firefox (version 2, the newest) to access SiteFinity which is currently on a staging server with the company I'm using to help develop the site.

I have not had any issues logging into sitefinity for the last month -until now... I can not get past the login screen - I get the message:

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

        *   The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
              moments.....blah blah blah

I checked with the developer and there are no issues on their side, they said it could be a Firefox issue. I'm not sure what version of SiteFinity that I'm using since I can't log in to check...

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated - I've cleared the cookies, cleared the cache in Firefox and still can not get past the login screen. My login information has not changed.

    Hi Susan,

It's a strange error and actually it could be a Firefox issue. We have to investigate it more, because we are not able to replicate it. I have performed some google searches and it seems there are many people who get similar error for no obvious reason.
You could try to temporary disable your add-ons and see what happens. Even if the browser is not updated often, some of the add-ons are.

We are sorry for not being able to help you much. We will look forward to your reply, to see whether disabling the add-ons helps.

    Sincerely yours,

    Thanks for responding.

Disabling the one add-on I have did not work, I get the same error.

I even downloaded the beta version of Firefox 3 and got the same error.

The only workaround I found was having someone create a new user for me and so far so good, but if it stops working a month from now I'll be back....
