We are in the process of moving our website files to a new production server. Currently, we still have a few 3.x sites that we have yet to migrate to a newer version of Sitefinity. My plan for these sites was to copy their directories off of the older server and place them on the new server while leaving them pointed to the existing database server.

I was able to copy the directory containing the first site from the old server to the new server and set it up as an application under our main website. However, when I try to pull this site up in a browser I get an error message stating it "Could not load file or assembly 'Telerik.Sitefinity' or one of its dependencies...". I checked the old server and it does not appear that this dll existed there either, but the site definitely runs on that server. I don't see that file in the GAC or anywhere on the old server, so I'm perplexed as to how it is running properly there. Is there something I'm missing here?

Please disregard this topic. I figured out that my site was inheriting part of the web.config file from its parent site. Since the parent site (a newer sitefinity version) referenced this dll it was trying to include it in my child site.
