    I'm using Sitefinity 3.71. I have a user with a role that is set up to allow only Create, Modify and Change Properties, and yet the user is able to publish pages. I tried explicitly denying Approve and Publish, but the user is still able to publish. Other users that don't have the Create or Modify permissions seem to function as expected. What am I missing here? Is there any place where there is detailed documentation on how permissions work, the user manual seems to gloss over it and deoes not address my issue.

    Hello Mahendra,

    Thank you for using our services.

    Have you enabled page workflow from the web.config:
    <add connectionStringName="DefaultConnection" allowPageHistory="true"
        allowPageWorkflow="true" cachingProviderName="ASPNET" name="Sitefinity"
        type="Telerik.Cms.Data.DefaultProvider, Telerik.Cms.Data" />

    By default this property is set to false, and page workflow is turned off. You can read more about Page Workflow in our User Manual.

    If you have more questions, please feel free to contact us.

    Best wishes,
    Radoslav Georgiev
