after a month-long search for the perfect .NET based CMS, I'm happy that now there are just two solutions left: Umbraco and Sitefinity.
Currently, Sitefinity is my favourite as it comes with lot more features and modules out-of-the-box and is more addicted to core .NET development than Umbraco with its mainly XSLT-based apporach (which has it advantages too, like faster and easier module development, as long as it doesn't get too complex).
Anyhow there is one thing that is really a showstopper for me: the page/template editor. When working with css-based layouts, it screws up the content placeholder layouts frequently. I tried it with a self-made template and even with downloading and using the "official" summer theme.
But even here - the page editor messes up the layout of the placeholders. Some are misplaced, some are overlayed over others - see my attachment to this post.
While that's ok as long as I am working on this alone, I can't let my clients or any content editor guy work with this. It's confusing, at best.
But maybe I'm doing anything wrong ... mainly because I'm not able to find any complaints about this here or on the net. But I think thats a major issue ...
Can somebody help me out?
