I have a site with about 2000 users and about 250 roles. Each user is assigned to at least 3 roles.

After a user login, the navigation on the page the user can see is based on the user's role. I noticed the site is rendered very slow and it took about 15-20 seconds to load. Without the navigation, it took less than 2 second.

I am using the "out-of-the-box" SiteTreeView.

Anyone having this kind of issue? And how to resolve to it?

    Thanks,
    Pik

    Hi Pik Lee,

Most probably the performance issues are related to the tree view. The tree view is bound to the sitemap at once and if you have too many pages ( as well as too many users and roles) this could cause performance issues.

I suggest you trying to optimize the RadTreeView from the performance optimizations tips in the following article - http://www.telerik.com/help/aspnet-ajax/optimizing_output_and_page_load_time_by_using_radscriptmanager_and_radstylesheetmanager.html

Do you have a lot of pages under one node?

    All the best,

Can these optimizations be applied to the Sitefinity Admin RadTreeView?

    Hello Jason M,

I regret to inform you that it is not possible to optimize the backend ( there is only one place - Pages section) RadTreeView control. The backend RadTreeView control is optimized for Sitefinity 4.0.
