    Hello all,

I am experiencing an issue where a PDF uploaded to the Modules / Images & Documents portion of Sitefinity is having issues being downloaded as a .sflb.ashx link in IE8.  The issue is isolated to only one link, so I am a bit stumped.

On our webpage, clicking the link to the PDF works fine the first time, although it does open in a new window, as a .tmp file.  All other PDFS on the page open successfully in the browser and not as .tmp files.  When a user closes the PDF window and tries to open the link again, the document cannot be found, I'm guessing because IE8 is looking for the .tmp file instead of the copy on the server.

Has anyone experienced this before?  Any tips or ideas?  For what it's worth, it is happening on multiple computers, so it is not a completely isolated, random case.

    Thanks!
    Brad

Edit:  I've tried re-uploading a new copy of the file, saved with different settings in Acrobat, but no luck.

    Hello Brad,

When you try do download the file for a second time, the document is loaded from the cache. There could be some issue if you somehow change the request or header. Do you have the same issue with other browsers?

    Kind regards,

    Ivan,

I saved the PDF under different PDF version settings, and re-uploaded it, and the issue has been resolved.  I'm not sure if the version of the PDF was the issue, or perhaps re-uploading it at any rate would have solved the problem.  Also, this did not occur in Firefox, but only IE.

    Thanks!

We are having a similar issue that is only happening in IE8, PDFs being downloaded as .TMP files.
By clearing the browser cache allows the item to be downloaded again.
