I am wondering how sitefinity can help with a security model like the below-

I am building a customer portal in which I need to restrict content by customer and users within a customer (e.g. CEO, CFO, etc). So when I post a new piece of content, I need to be ale to say that Client A and Client C can see the content and users who are of type CEO and CFO at these two clients should be able to see the content. Any thoughts on how something like this would be accomplished with Sitefinity?

    Thanks.

Any thoughts or advice in regards to accomplishing this from a security and roles standpoint in Sitefinity? I know it is not exactly a Sitefinity question but we are going to be evaluating Sitefinity and at a high level would like to know the capabilities available. Thanks.

    Hello J,

Currently, our built-in security features are more concentrated in the administrative part of Sitefinity, not in the public part. The security model that you propose is not simple. You can use Sitefinity as a basis or a framework, and develop custom controls and modules that integrate with it to implement permissions and security roles for the public part. So, generally, it is possible with some development work on the public permissions.

We are working hard to improve the security roles in the public part and believe that many of the tasks you would target will be done in some of our next releases.

Feel free to contact us if you would like to know anything else about Sitefinity.
