So I was working in the admin are of our site and the admin area suddently says:

    Server Error in '/' Application.

This type of page is not served.

Description:The type of page you have requested is not served because it has beenexplicitly forbidden.  The extension '.aspx' may be incorrect.   Please reviewthe URL below and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

    RequestedURL: /Sitefinity/Admin/Pages.aspx

Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:2.0.50727.3603;ASP.NET Version:2.0.50727.3082

    This on the URL: http://dev.xxxxxx.org/Sitefinity/Admin/Pages.aspx

The Dashboard page works, but not this page, or the editor itself, which is where the error started. I have dropped a "touched" web.config file in to force a recompile on our shared hosting platform and the problem is not corrected.

    How can this be fixed?

    Hi Nathan J Pledger,

Are you using an administrator account when trying to edit this page. The error is very common and it is thrown when there is a permission restriction, the user is not authenticated or the file does not exists. Since you are able to access the dashboard it seems that the issue is related to user's permissions. Ifyou can provide some more detailed information it will be great.

    Hi Ivan,

    Thanks for the speedy response.

As mentioned, the site is on a shared hosting platform so an Administrator's access if impossible (if it is a Windows account you mean). I was logging in to SiteFinity using the "admin" account.

Several hours later, I have retried access and the site now works. This is without intervention that I know of, though I suspect the memory pool could have recycled, but I wouldn't be able to confirm this.

Thanks for your help. I'll be interested to see if version 4 resolves my issues.

    Hi Nathan J Pledger,

Most probably the application pool has been recycled or your cookie has been cleared somehow. As for the admin user - I was talking about the Sitefinity's admin. Let us know if any problems appear.

    Sincerely yours,
