Thanks Gabe for a great webcast today! I have a little bit of constructive feedback on the RadEditor dialogs and I'm interested to see what everyone else thinks.
The insert image dialog takes a whole lot of clicking to insert an existing image. I would love to see this window use tabs - Insert New Image, Insert From Files, Insert From Library. Or, use the cool slider effect that we see on all the control designers to switch from upload to select existing file. The whole window-within-a-window thing is overkill for such a simple task.
The hyperlink dialog - can we do without the extra window here too? A tabbed or slider interface would work well also. The biggest oversight with the hyperlink dialog is the "target window". Almost all of my clients want some links to open in a new window. For this reason alone I sometimes change my radeditor to use the default hyperlink dialog because it's easier for clients to type the URLs for their pages rather than edit the html to add a target tag.
Lastly, while we're talking about hyperlinks, what about adding a custom links dropdown to quickly link to pages within the Sitefinity site? I remember this feature was in the Telerik DNNEditorProvider and it worked great. In fact, the custom links dropdown could be used to link to other sitefinity pages, news articles, events, blog posts, etc.
I feel like the editor dialogs were rushed when they came out because of some of this oversight. Maybe a rework is in order for v4. But enough from me, what does everyone else think?
